SILKY AND SUSTAINABLE
Modal is a superior natural fiber. Ethically sourced from beech tree pulp, it’s more durable than rayon and has a silkier quality than cotton. It’s also a more environmentally friendly alternative — beech trees require little water to thrive and the production process consumes 10 to 20 percent less water than cotton. Plus, it’s manufactured using a closed-loop process, which repurposes 99 percent of the non-toxic solvent used during production and recycles expended water.
SLOW FASHION IS BETTER FOR THE PLANET
Fast fashion accounts for 10 percent of all carbon emissions. The industry is the second-largest consumer of water — it takes 700 gallons to produce one non-organic cotton shirt. Toxic textile dyes are the second largest polluter of water. Meanwhile, 85 percent of all textiles end up in the landfill each year, and synthetic clothing made from petroleum byproducts, like polyester and nylon, will never decompose. Our materials — like modal and cotton — are sustainable. Natural and organic materials use less water and are not petroleum byproducts. They biodegrade and can be processed in a way that is safe for people and the planet. And we only use natural, non-toxic dyes.
