The holidays are almost here — and for many, this can be a hard time to maintain a weight that’s healthy for you. Studies have suggested that people gain an average of 1 to 2 pounds during the holidays.

Here’s the good news: There’s a quick and easy way to protect your health and get an early start on New Year’s resolutions. By taking a daily dose of apple cider vinegar (ACV), you can help keep your appetite and your health in check any time of year — but especially during the holiday season when you’re surrounded by foods high in saturated fat and added sugar.

Traditional ACV has been around since 400 B.C., but this year, there is an even more convenient option. Bragg, the 100-year-old company that is the leader in liquid ACV, has launched a new convenient ACV supplement, making it easy to start a new health routine before the holidays, even if you’re traveling or on the go.

Clinically proven benefits of apple cider vinegar and acetic acid

“Many people don’t realize this, but the active ingredient in apple cider vinegar that provides health benefits is acetic acid. Several clinical studies show that a daily dose of 750 milligrams of acetic acid provides many health benefits, such as weight loss and improvements in blood glucose and lipid levels,” said Dr. Ed McDonald, MD, a gastroenterologist and assistant professor of medicine at the University of Chicago.

Clinically proven benefits of ACV and acetic acid

“Acetic acid helps reduce the absorption of carbohydrates, which in turn reduces blood sugar spikes,” said Dr. McDonald. “This ultimately helps with appetite control and weight management. Clinical research also shows that acetic acid supports healthy blood glucose and cholesterol levels.”

Dr. McDonald added, “Not all supplements are created equal — you have to look for the right dose of acetic acid to get all the health benefits. Having this amount of acetic acid in supplement form is a great breakthrough, and only one company is getting it right. That company is Bragg Live Food Products, makers of the time-tested Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar. Since this supplement also includes 100% recommended daily values of vitamin D and zinc, it may support immunity as well.”

Why one ACV supplement stands out from the rest

New Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar supplements — help manage weight gain and reduce carbohydrate absorption.

There are many ACV supplements available and choosing the right one can be overwhelming. Whether you’re shopping online or wandering the aisles of your favorite grocery store, which ACV supplement is the best?

Bragg ACV supplement is the only supplement with the scientifically proven dosage of acetic acid (750 milligrams), and it is, of course, the only one to provide the power of Bragg’s time-tested organic ACV in a convenient capsule format.

In addition, the product is vegan, Non-GMO Project verified, kosher, gluten-free, and sugar-free, and it has no artificial colors or flavors.

3 ACV capsules = 30 ACV gummies

“It’s important to keep in mind that it isn’t possible for a gummy-based apple cider vinegar supplement to offer the correct amount of acetic acid. In fact, it would take 30 of the leading gummies to equal 1 serving of Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar capsules,” said Diane Kull, VP of R&D and Quality at Bragg.

“For this reason, and since gummy products generally contain added sugar, the Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar supplement is the best choice for health-conscious consumers,” said Kull.

Now Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar is available in supplement form, bringing the same acetic acid efficacy that the liquid form does.

ACV powder does not equal acetic acid

There is much confusion in the market, even among nutritionists and “health experts,” regarding the supplement’s acetic acid content versus their ACV powder content.

Keep in mind that the milligrams of ACV powder listed on a supplement’s label is not equal to the amount of acetic acid.

To determine if you’re taking the correct daily dose, simply multiply the ACV milligrams by the percentage of acetic acid (usually 5% for most ACV powders). So, if you see a supplement with 500 mg of ACV powder, it probably only contains 25 mg of acetic acid, which is much lower than the 750 mg that is clinically proven to support all of the ACV health benefits.

Three Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar capsules are equivalent to 1 tablespoon (15 mL) of liquid ACV, or roughly 30–50 ACV gummies! In addition, the Bragg ACV capsules have no sugar added, zero calories, and no artificial flavors or colors.

The takeaway

With the holiday season just around the corner, now is the time to think about ways you can stay on top of your health. You don’t have to view holiday weight gain and blood sugar spikes as inevitable when you take a daily dose of Bragg’s new ACV supplement.

As a bonus, it also bolsters your immunity, with 100% of recommended daily allowances of vitamin D and zinc. By adopting this new habit now, you could even get a jump on your New Year’s resolutions!
