- Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2024Size: MediumColor: CharcoalVerified PurchaseThey are comfortable and come up over cargo pants or jeans and stay up. The bugs don't like them. I use them only when I have to go into deep woods and swampy areas, because they say to wash them separately from your other clothes, and they DON'T say what they're using. I have to make myself remove them when I go inside, because they're so comfortable. They say they last through hundreds of washing - my socks never last that long! I've gotten the medium weight ones too, and they are fine when you're wearing boots.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2024Size: LargeColor: KhakiVerified PurchaseBought several pairs of these for a safari trip to Africa. They are the perfect weight- kept my feet warm and dry and I had no bites on my ankles!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2023Size: MediumColor: CharcoalVerified PurchaseI ordered these socks to wear with my gardening shoes to try to keep the chiggers off, because spraying bug spray on your feet, shoes, and legs doesn't do a lot of good when it just gets rinsed right back off while you're watering plants. Also, I'm allergic to wool, and a lot of similar products from other companies contain wool.
The socks seem to be good quality, but they run big. I wear a women's size 6.5 shoe, and, according to the size chart, the medium adult size was supposed to fit me. As you can see in the photo I included, the heel in the sock doesn't match up with my real heel. Not even close. Unfortunately, the company doesn't seem to offer an adult small. I could probably wear a size medium in the youth size, but that size seems to be out of stock in that style. I can still use these, because, let's face it, who cares how they look when I'm out working in the yard getting dirty? However, if I liked them, I was going to order a couple more pairs, and I won't do that now, since they don't really fit. I guess I'll have to wait until they get around to restocking the size medium in the youth style. Oh, well.
Also, although they are described as lightweight, I would describe them as more of a medium weight. I was hoping for something a bit lighter weight, since it gets really hot in Texas in the summer, but that's OK. The thickness is not a deal-breaker, and the thicker ones might be better at repelling bugs. I haven't had a chance to try them out, to see if they really work, but permethrin is a tried and true insect repellent, so I'm not too worried about that.
The takeaway here is that if you have a small feet like me, you're not going to be able to get a product that actually fits until they restock the youth sizes. If you have an average or large foot, you probably will be able to find a size that fits you. These are reasonably-priced for the quality, and pricing is very good in comparison with similar products from other companies.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2024Size: MediumColor: KhakiVerified PurchaseTook 2 pairs of these on a 10 day hiking trip to the Canadian Rockies. Ended up washing them in the sink and rewearing them because they were so much more comfortable than all my other socks, very padded and soft. Never found any ticks on them. Five stars.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2024Size: MediumColor: CharcoalVerified PurchaseGreat protection against bugs biting my ankles and legs, and no bugs crawl into my shoes either. The socks do come up to just below my knees and they do not slip down or get bunched up in my shoes. I do put them over my pant legs at my ankle to prevent bugs from crawling up my pant legs, no more ant or spider bites.
