My Rant for Today: Went to have a fish sandwich from a popular fast food place. Usually their fountain drinks include sugar free options. So instead of bottled water( I drink water all day)— I thought “ Hey let’s get a sugar free option with flavor!” Well. All sugar free options were out, and people were waiting in line anxiously waiting for me to just hurry up. I chose the fruit punch. I sipped some. My blood sugar has climbed to 280. I hate diabetes. Ok, rant over.

I have a question. Have had T2D for two years now. Have had neuropathy for about that long. I know the key to controlling the diabetes is diet medication and exercise. So far I’m doing sort of ok only because I’m barely squeaking by by so far avoiding being on meds. But my question is how can I exercise when I’ve got neuropathy and some days can barely walk. I’ve been like this for four years since I fell and broke my leg requiring three surgeries. Because of all that I can’t lose any weight short of starving myself.

I’m reaching out because I’m struggling. My sugars have been bad for the last 2 weeks. Up and down like a roller coaster. I’m taking Humalog, Lantus and Metformin as instructed. Watching what I eat. I portion out everything. However I’m under a tremendous amount of stress. So it’s effecting my glucose numbers, my acid reflex and sleep. Any suggestions on how to cope? I’m active. Working 2 jobs. I feel like a failure to myself. But the circumstances I’m going through were out of my control(my mom passed away on 1/11/25) so I’m the one in charge of her estate.
