EXPERIENCE DELICIOUS FLAVORS: Each North Spore mushroom kit offers a unique gourmet experience! Our lion’s mane kits produce plump, dense, shaggy, delicious mushroom clusters. Lion’s mane is highly versatile and can be enjoyed cooked, dried, extracted, or even steeped as a tea!
GROW LARGE CLUSTERS: Each 4 lb kit should produce 0.5-1.5 lbs of fresh delicious mushrooms your first harvest. Most kits will continue growing after the first flush (although each subsequent harvest will be slightly smaller.) See instruction booklet for details.
YOUR FIRST HARVEST IN 14-21 DAYS: On average, it will take 7-14 for your kit to begin “pinning.” From there, your baby mushrooms will grow rapidly with proper humidity and temperature. Once your mushroom caps begin to flatten, it’s time to harvest your kit!

This product was easy to use and the first flush grew pretty quickly and easily. The second flush was small, discolored and kind of dry so I pulled it out and hoped for the next one...it never grew anymore mushrooms. I did soak the block as they recommended and put up a plastic tent around it but nothing else ever came of it. The first flush was very tasty and I was really excited to try more products from them...but for the cost it just didn't produce enough to buy it again.

Had hopes this was going to be an easy "Spray and grow" but looked brown when it arrived, thought maybe it was the substrate and possibly uncolonized parts, well that exactly what it was at first but after carefully tending to this thing a few times a day as instructed in the manual for about 2 weeks got bacteria or mold growth on the spots that were uncolonized. Going to try to take a tissue culture sample from one of the small fruits to in hopes not waste my money. But i wouldn't buy this one, at least from Amazon, North spore may have better storage for them at their warehouses.

The grow kit was well worth the wait. Once it arrived, the fully colonized block fruited within a few days of cutting it open. The first flush was pretty good, and after harvesting the mushrooms I left the block in the fruiting chamber for a second flush.

The second flush started growing almost immediately, and it was at least at big (or bigger) than the first flush. After I harvested the mushrooms, I figured the kit was done, so I left it on my table waiting to be recycled in a compost bin. But then, SURPRISE! A THIRD flush came out! YMMV, and this is more than I expected. I may even wait to see if there's a FOURTH flush left in the kit.

The only downside is if you live in a dry area, especially in the winter, I think it's best to keep the block in a fruiting chamber to keep it at a high humidity environment.

This was an experiment. It arrived quickly and set up was very straightforward, so kudos on that. It started off slow, but when it started growing, WOW. I included pics. It did grow a nice large cluster of mushrooms. I cut them off to cook and proceeded to treat the remainder the same. However it doe not seem to want to grow now. The last pic is 5 days post harvest. It's turned yellowish and looks unhealthy. Not sure if I did something wrong. 🤔 so a fun experiment, but an expensive one.
