Practicing gratitude is important any time of the year, but it can be especially grounding during the busy holiday season.
Life can be hectic, especially during the holiday season. Family, work, doctor’s appointments, and other commitments can sometimes prevent us from taking a mindful moment. But taking stock of what we’re grateful for can be a great way to ground ourselves.
Practicing gratitude comes with a lot of benefits, like improving your mental and emotional health, strengthening your relationships, and even boosting your immune system.
The holidays can provide a great space for relaxation and reflection. For many, it’s a joyous time to celebrate with the ones we love, look back on the past year, and look forward to the new one ahead.
We asked the Bezzy PsA community what they’re thankful for this year. Here’s what they said.
“I’m most grateful for my family. It took me years to confide in them about my disease. I was always afraid of burdening my two sons, their wives, and my husband with how awful it is. I let that go and shared my “cross to bear,” and I’m so glad I did. They are so willing to help me, and I now feel better about asking for help.
“I’m grateful for the little things in life that add up throughout the day. I’m also thankful that when the pain and fatigue get bad, I lay down or rest without feeling guilty like I once did.” — Paula
“I’m thankful my entire family is under one roof this year. I’m thankful that we have our basic needs — food, shelter, and love — taken care of. Because there was a time when we were separated and struggling to make ends meet.” — Elizabeth Rago, @themoderndomesticwoman
I’m thankful for the meds that keep me going and the support of groups like Bezzy. Knowing that we’re not alone in our struggles and can help and lean on each other is a good feeling. — mini_ks_creations, Bezzy PsA Instagram follower
Sometimes a little gratitude can go a long way. Even if we’re not exactly where we want to be in life, finding things to be thankful for is healthy for our body and mind.
You’re not on this journey alone. As always, we’re here for you at Bezzy.
