Reliable, Calibratable and Accurate, Precision Instrument
I bought two different Kizen thermometers (one probe, one pocket) to replace the two Thermopro units that we purchased three years ago. As a (home) chef, an accurate thermometer makes all the difference in properly cooking your food. I contacted Thermopro to inquire as to how to recalibrate the units that are both reading inaccurately and was informed that there isn't a function on either unit as a feature. They offered to possibly replace them provided they were still in warranty (they're not since they are more than three years old) but can not do anything else. Now that they are no longer reading accurately with a +5 degree difference in temperature, they are pretty much useless to me. I reached out to the folks at Kizen and have been completely amazed at the quick and helpful responses prior to ever buying their products. After a confirmation that the units I want to buy were able to be recalibrated at home if the temperature needs to be recalibrated in the future, they explained that these units have a built-in function that will allow you to adjust and recalibrate if ever needed. THIS was important to me because neither of our TP units are able to do that. Upon receipt, after unpacking I have to say that this is an excellent, well-made, precision instrument that should be in EVERYONE'S kitchen. All of the nice touches and features that come with either unit are remarkable. I could not be happier with our choice and very glad that we found these products. I am so rarely impressed these days, but I have to say that these guys are doing it right. They have my business in the future and I will recommend them to all friends and family.
