Air-Fryer Fried Chicken Tenders Active Time: 8 minutes Cook Time: 12 minutes Total Time: 20 minutes Yield: 8 tenders/4 servings Ingredients • 1/3 cup almond flour • 1/3 cup all purpose flour • 1 teaspoon paprika • 1 teaspoon garlic powder • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder • 1 egg • 1 teaspoon hot sauce • 1 pound chicken tenders • 1/2 teaspoon salt • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper • Nonstick cooking spray Instructions Step 1: Heat the air fryer to 400 degrees. Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray. Step 2: Place almond flour, all purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika into a shallow dish and stir to combine. Place the egg and hot sauce into another shallow dish and whisk to combine. Step 3: Place the chicken tenders on a plate and pat dry. Season both sides of each tender with the salt and pepper. Dip one tender at a time in the egg mixture, then coat well in the flour mixture and place in the prepared air fryer basket. Spray the tops with nonstick cooking spray. Step 4: Place the basket in the air fryer and cook for 12 minutes, flipping the tenders half way through cooking and spraying again with nonstick cooking spray. These diabetes-friendly chicken tenders come together in less than 20 minutes, so skip the fast-food drive through and make this healthier version at home. We cook the chicken in the air-fryer to cut down on extra oil, and coat the tenders in a mix of almond flour and all-purpose flour to cut back on carbs while still getting a crispy, flavorful coating. #diabetesrecipes #diabetes #diabetesmanagement #airfryer #airfryerrecipes Healthline content is strictly informational and should not be considered medical advice.
