Let’s talk about portion sizes. How do we know when the food on our plate is too much, too little, or just the right amount for a meal or snack? Portion sizes have grown a lot over the years, distorting our sense of what the “right amount” truly means. And when living with diabetes, how much we add to our plate can really matter.

Some of us finish everything on our plates (or the entire bag of popcorn we’ve just popped). Understanding the amount of food that equals a single portion is an important tool to keep us healthy.
