Supermarkets can be tricky places. We’ve all been there — standing in the middle of our local market staring down aisles lined with shelf upon shelf of food. Some of the boxes, bags, and cans are nutrient dense. Others, not so much.

Complicating the matter are the endless labels proclaiming their “fat-free,” “low calorie,” “gluten-free,” and “low carb” contents. Some of these foods might be nutritious, but some might just be brilliant marketing meant to trick you into buying them!

Living with diabetes and navigating the market can seem intimidating at times, but with a bit of knowledge and some practice, it doesn’t have to be.
