Mastering Mealtime
Lesson 8 · 8 min
If you live with diabetes, meal planning is one way to help you consistently eat a balanced diet and manage carbs.
While you don’t need to map out every single meal for the week, a little planning will save you time later. Just follow these simple guidelines when putting your lunches, dinners, and that all-important breakfast meal together.

One of the easiest ways to balance out your meals is to use imagined lines on your plate as a simple visual guide.
This is called the Plate Method, and it’s a great tool to ensure you get the right amounts of lean protein, non-starchy vegetables, and carbs at each meal.
