Medications and Treatments
Sleep. It doesn’t get talked about much here as far as it might relate to IBD control and management. I have some personal observations and a theory about sleep and our afflictions. I eat dinner around 7 or 8 pm and go to bed about 2 or 3 hours later. I sleep all night with no gastro problems. In the morning I have an almost normal bowel movement. I don’t eat anything at all until 2 or 3 in the afternoon. So, I plan all of my errands, doctor appointments, etc. for morning and late afternoon. When I eat my afternoon meal, I need to be standing near the bathroom 2 or 3 hours later. Because of circadian rhythm all of our bodily functions, including digestion, slow down during our nightly sleep. My theory is that since digestion is slowed down, the dinner meal has more time to more fully digest instead of going straight through. I’m wondering if anyone experiences what I experience or is it just something that I alone experience. If this is a “thing”, I believe daily naps are in order for all of us, although I understand some employers frown on their employees sleeping at work. Anyway, I’m interested in hearing comments about this. Take care, Steve

Medications and Treatments
Hey all! I just had my second Iv bag of Tremfya on Friday (so 2 days ago!) I took a 30 min nap after but otherwise… I’m getting back to normal life. I ran a mile on Wednesday and on Thursday. Guys- it’s working and worth looking into. This is the best I’ve felt on a treatment. Sending all of you hope and prayers!
Newly Diagnosed
Well, I got the results from my endoscopy and colonoscopy: I have mild gastritis, but no Crohn’s! My doc figures it’s IBS with a side of fibromyalgia. I have been weaning myself off the supplements I was taking to treat Crohn’s-like symptoms and my pain is almost gone. It’s been good getting to know the people in this community. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and encouragement. 💜
