Medications and Treatments
Hope everyone is having a good afternoon this Friday. I did my first Remicade infusion this morning. When I got there I was so nervous that I was shaking. The nurse was really kind. I asked for the Tylenol and Benadryl which was optional but I took it as it helped me feel more comfortable. As the time went on I started feeling better. A few others were in the center with me. We talked about our hobbies and the one guy next to me had similar interests in sports, games, the outdoors, etc. then a lady came in and talked about gardening and what she is planting this spring. I really appreciated their conversation as it got my mind off things. After awhile I got a little more tired and just hung out the rest of the time quietly. Not feeling much of anything right now besides a little bit of the tiredness. I’m happy that this went well. I go back the week after next for the 2nd loading dose.

Diet and Integrative Therapies
Hi!! Looking for any and all advice! I hope I explain myself well here. I’m struggling eating healthier and sticking to my nutrionists recommended calorie intake because my crohns and UC limits my diet so much. I can’t have fiber- right now veggies fruits and things like beans are just not an option. I can tolerate about a half cup of a cooked veggie spread out against the week. But that’s so small in comparison to what I wish I could be having as an intake either daily or weekly. Here’s my complaint/please help lol! I struggle finding foods I can tolerate that fill me up and make me feel full. I can never volume eat! Like I can’t ever just enjoy lots of cucumbers, or a bowl of fruit. How do you guys manage the always being hungry?Right now I can only do carbs and proteins and it’s just never enough. I’d love any life hacks or secret food finds you’ve made work.

Hi! I have had Crohn’s for 6 years and just found out my infusions are not helping and I have developed a structure in my small intestine and will need surgery. Has anyone on here had surgery for their Crohn’s? Kinda scared going into all this! Thanks
