They finally send me out to james hospital. I was quickly admitted from the ER. I had to have emergency colorectal surgery a mass was 5cm long 4cm wide. Now that I'm home i realized it happened so fast. I got home yesterday I'm sore from surgery and I'm not feeling sick... Diet and Integrative Therapies
There don’t seem to be any strict food and diet rules for managing UC/Crohns. It’s primarily trial and error for each individual . . . except for CADS (Coffee, Alcohol, Dairy, and Sodas). I know it’s been determined that those items usually cause problems. But do they always cause problems? Could it even be possible that one or more of those foods could actually help with our symptoms? The reason I bring up this subject and pose these questions is that I have found, in my case, that coffee helps my UC. I usually wake up around 5 am. And my digestive system is usually going wild - lots of noise and rumbling. So I get a cup of coffee. Within a few minutes my gut has settled down and I’m good for the rest of the morning. (BTW, I put a shot of half and half in the coffee). In the spirit of full disclosure, my UC isn’t as severe as most of you here. My GI classifies it as “mild to moderate “. So that may come into play. But my point is, we’re encouraged to test out and apply trial and error to all of our other foods, why not the dreaded CADS foods? Now, I can’t wait to experiment with vodka <LOL>. Take care, Steve

Medications and Treatments
For a while now, I’ve been taking Imodium as a preventative whenever I leave the house. It seems to work and I’m curious if anyone else does this and what your results have been. Steve
