- Teachers’ unions are calling for some schools to go remote amid rising COVID-19 cases. The Pennsylvania State Education Association, representing roughly 180,000 educators, is requesting that any county experiencing substantial COVID-19 cases to transition to remote instruction.
- Dolly Parton was thanked by researchers for her $1 million dollar contribution to COVID-19 research. The research Parton helped fund led to the experimental Moderna COVID-19 vaccine that may be up to 94% effective.
- A wedding with 300 guests has sparked a COVID-19 outbreak in Washington state. The wedding took place in September and now two different outbreaks have been linked back to the event where at least 17 guests have tested positive.
