The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recommending against Thanksgiving travel to prevent transmission of COVID-19. The massive surge of COVID-19 cases in recent weeks may only grow if people gather for the holiday.
New York is only one step away from the “orange” warning zone due to rising COVID-19 cases. However, Mayor Bill de Blasio said it’s likely to happen, meaning businesses that only just reopened might have to close again according to state rules.
Officials from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) no longer recommend treating people with mild to moderate COVID-19 with the antiviral drug bamlanivimab. Instead, they say that only people at risk for severe COVID-19 should get the treatment.
