- A Houston hospital has suspended 178 staff members who refused to follow the facility’s mandate that all employees be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by Monday, reported NBC News.
- Officials at Moderna are asking the FDA to give their vaccine emergency use authorization for people over the age of 12.
- U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy is warning that unvaccinated people are increasingly at risk for contracting a dangerous variant of the coronavirus. Murthy specifically cited the B.1.617.2, or Delta, variant that was first identified in India, according to CNN.
