  • The World Health Organization (WHO) is closely tracking the Delta Plus AY.4.2 subvariant of COVID-19 to determine whether it is more infectious. According to the weekly epidemiological update from the WHO, they also want to determine whether this subvariant is significantly more resistant to human antibodies that fight the virus.
  • The Oakland Unified school board has approved a plan that mandates that students must be vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend in-person classes, according to Oaklandside. Students over age 12 will have until January 1 to get vaccinated or to enroll in an independent study program.
