The Latest on COVID-19

• President Joe Biden announced on Monday that 80 million COVID-19 vaccine doses would be sent to other countries in an effort to fight the ongoing pandemic abroad. The WHO has been asking wealthy countries to donate vaccine doses to countries where few are available.
• As pubs and other gathering places in the U.K. reopen, Prime Minister Boris Johnson warns citizens to use a "heavy dose of caution," according to The Guardian.
• The CDC says that it’s safe for fully vaccinated 12- to 15-year-olds to remove their masks in most settings, according to NPR. But there are no COVID-19 vaccines currently approved for use among children under 12 in the U.S., meaning that this age group still needs to wear masks.
