- In a
statement released today, officials at Moderna say that their COVID-19 vaccine is effective among adolescents. In the phase 2 and 3 study, no teen who was fully vaccinated ended up developing COVID-19.
- A new
study finds that the Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine can produce coronavirus-fighting antibodies in the oral and nasal fluids. Antibodies in the mouth and nose can then block the virus from entering the body. This would also suggest that vaccinated people probably won’t spread the virus through respiratory droplets.
- Experts are turning their focus to vaccinating young Americans against COVID-19. They warn that even though young people do not face a high chance of serious illness, they still risk long-term symptoms if they develop the infection, reported
CNN.
