Ready for your shot? What you need to know
Last week, President Joe Biden announced that all adults in the United States will be eligible for vaccination against COVID-19 on April 19. More than 25% of U.S. adults are now fully vaccinated, but that might not be enough to ward off a fourth surge in cases.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the highly contagious coronavirus variant that scientists first detected in the United Kingdom, B.1.1.7, is now the dominant form in the U.S. Fortunately, recent research indicates that existing vaccines are effective against this and other variants.
The CDC also updated its travel guidance this week, saying that fully vaccinated people are safe to travel without getting a COVID-19 test or having to quarantine at their destination. Vaccination remains the fastest route back to normalcy.
But what about the practicalities of getting your shot where you live? Healthline have published this state-by-state guide to getting vaccinated. Eligibility and booking procedures vary, sometimes by county, so we’ve provided links to all the registration and vaccine center resources you may need.
Vaccination remains our best shot at beating this pandemic in 2021. We hope our new guide helps you get yours all the sooner.
