| Vaccines, New Menopause Guidance, and One Celebrity’s Misdiagnosed MS |
| From hepatitis B shot concerns to new menopause guidance, here is your health news roundup this week. |
A new study projects that delaying or skipping the hepatitis B shot at birth could sharply increase chronic infections in children. The CDC ended its universal birth-dose recommendation in late 2025, though the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) still advises vaccinating within 24 hours. Expecting parents should talk with their pediatricians about timing.
Menopause care also got an update: the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) now strongly recommends hormone therapy for hot flashes, night sweats, and related sleep problems in people who can use it, with nonhormonal options for those who can’t.
In celebrity health news, Christina Applegate shared that doctors now say she was misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) five years ago, a more common experience than many realize, especially for women.
